The Design And Implement Of Multimedia Application In Network Examination System

Examination is an indispensable link in a teaching activity. Sometimes, the content of examination cannot express the intended information accurately when it just resorts to words and redundant depiction will possibly get the students into unintelligibility and embarrassment. On the contrary, objective information transmitted by multimedia will possibly double the effect that words do. Nowadays, it is a growing tendency to apply multimedialization of examination to check what the students have learned. With the development of techniques of multimedia, network and database, this application will manifest its necessity and urgency.This thesis, based on computer network, foregrounding the application of multimedia in examination, expounded the theoretical ground for the application of multimedia in examination and the design and implement of multimedia examination system. The main work the thesis concerns is as follows:1. Putting forword a new storage scheme of multimedia and the tendency of multimedialization of network examination after analyzing the current situation of the application of multimedia in the current network examination system.2. Expounding the role of multimedia in helping the students get valid information in terms of physiology, psychology and cognition, and pointing out the necessity and urgency of the application of multimedia in examination based on characteristics of multimedia and theoretical ground for applying multimedia to teaching.3. Analyzing the feasibility of and social demand in exploration of this examination system and introducing the model, main function module and important techniques employed in system programming.4. Expounding the systematic fabric, key technique and realization employed in applying multimedia to network examination system. The application of multimedia is critical in the system; it includes the following key techniques: the multimedia file uploading through Web, the transfer, input, output and attribute acquisition of instances of three types of data (Ordlmage, OrdAudio, OrdVideo) in Oracle database, smooth playing of audio and video with the help of Web buffer, JavaBean and Oracle storage procedure etc. Integrated application of these techniques can solve such problems as the storage of multimedia data in database, network transmission and objective presentation and playing of multimedia information on examination papers to obtain the intended goal.
