Content: At present, with continuous deepening of the quality-oriented education, our country is carrying out the new reform of English curriculum of the elementary education. The Education Department has issued The English Curriculum Standard of Regular Senior Middle Schools of the System of the Full-time Compulsory Education (Testing Manuscript) and The English Curriculum of Regular Senior Middle Schools (Testing) (The following is short for the New Curriculum Standard). The New Curriculum makes the Senior English courses full of character of times, basis and choice. It reflects the ideology of the quality-oriented education in the master object design and stresses the cultivating of the comprehensive language ability. This thesis thinks the probing into the best design of the Senior English class teaching under the direction of the New Curriculum Standard has a very important realistic significance. It helps the broad English educational workers to study further, test the English new curriculum standard and work on activities of the English teaching reform more effectively.This thesis first elucidates the basic principles that the best design of the Senior English class teaching should follow: (1) The Principle of Facing All the Students. Teachers should respect each student's personality, individual character and emotion, respect the difference between students and satisfy different requirements from different students and try to create the teaching atmosphere of ease, democracy and harmony. (2) The Principle of Students-oriented Teaching Method. Students are the principal part of studying, while teachers direct them and develop their enthusiasm fully. (3) The Principle of Taking Students' activities as the Center. Teachers create different kinds of activity atmosphere for students to learn English and build the new teaching model "activities promote development". (4) The Principle of Emphasizing the Training of the Students' Communicative ability. The teachers help the students learn about the culture of the country whose language they are learning by creating proper language environment and providing plenty of chances of practising language, so that the students can gain the communicative ability by using it. Second, this thesis discusses the contents that are implemented concretely. (1) The Pluralistic Objective of Class Teaching. (2) The Proper "Open" Teaching Contents and "Assignment" Teaching Means. (3) All Kinds of Organizing Forms and Changeable Role Relationship. (4) Mutual Class Talks and Layered Studying Requirements. (5) The Harmonious or Balanced Teaching Activities. Finally, it concretely probes into the main fields of the best design of the Senior English class teaching, namely: The Design of Asking Questions, The Design of Blackboard Writing and Stick Figures and The Design of Listening , Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension.
