In the knowledge economy era enterprising spirit and practical ability are the elementary factors which can affect the whole nation's development. So the new basic education curriculum innovation advances changing the status quo which overemphasizes receptive learning , memorizing and practicing mechanically . It advances a way of learning which is automous , cooperative and inquiry learning . It is a new point to set up and form a mode of inquiring learning which emphasizes initiative join , liking to inquire and elaborating students principal part .Research-based Teaching not only emphasizes transformating teachers' concept ,teachers' acting style and teachers' role.It can conclude , from the development of Research-based Teaching history that it requires paying more attention to teachers' role . The failure of Duwey " learning in doing " in 20s and Research-based Teaching in 1960s both omit teachers' function in a great extent .Research-based Teaching has these characters which are initiative, question, process, practice and so on. It is new education idea, so it challenge teachers, include teacher's educational idea, knowledge structure, teaching technique, role function, educating-based study , character and so on. Research-based Teaching not only emphasizes students' initiative. In fact , but the ability of students' inquiring form and development is not abrupt, but gradual. It is impossible for students to learn by themselves or inquiry blindly . In spite of the choice of inquiring variety, the creation of inquiring condition and the activities of inquiring, each steps all need teachers' guide. It requires teachers to elaborate subjective dynamic role and creation In conclusion the principal function of teachers is not doubted. According to teaching concrete aims, teaching content and students' characters, power and so on the extent of teachers' guiding can be adjusted in teaching activities.Under the traditional conditions the concept of teachers' role doesn't adapt the demands of Research-based Teaching. In Research-based Teaching a teacher acts as a facilitator , organizer, learner, cooperator, researcher, explorer of curriculum and roles variety .It can be known the status quo of teachers' role through a public opinion poll, investigating, the observating of the mode of students' learning and some documents. It indicates the following status quo. Firstly the way of learning in which teachers talk is the main way. Secondly in the way of teachers' teaching act, teaching is not active, creative and exploration of curriculum. Thirdly in the apply of teaching means , many teachers can't use modern teaching technique; Fourthly in the educating-based study teachers haven't enough knowledge and technique about it. So changing teacher's role needs to change teachers' conceptions and the teaching strategies, give teachers power to explore curriculum, supply some condition , reconstruct teachers' evaluation system , reform the mode of teachers' training and so on..
