This article is composed of four partsIntroduction : The characteristics of mathematics and the importance offinding problems in mathematics teaching by reasonable inference and non-logicalthinking are made an exposition of.Part 2 makes an exposition of the varieties, implications, functions andlimitations of the reasonable inference in mathematics teaching at middle school.Part 3 states the varieties and implications of non-logical thinking inmathematics teaching at middle school.Part 4 expounds the development of students' thinking on bringing forthnew ideas by reasonable inference and non-logical thinking:1 Functions and varieties of reasonable inference and non-logical thinking in elicitation method of teaching .Functions : Only by using the elicitation method of teaching can teachers have their students go on discovering and blazing new trials in study.Varieties : Such elicitation methods of teaching as elicitation of intuition ,elicitation of analogy ,elicitation of induction , elicitation of conjecture and elicitation of association may be used .2 Reasonable inference and non-logical thinking should be attached great importance to in the course of thinking in multiple directions, students should be encouraged to think about problems in multiple directions or hypotheses as they can so that students' diverging thinking ability will be developed .3 As a proposition from reasonable inference and non-logical thinking is just a hypothesis ,critical approach to it will help students have a profound understanding of and make a thorough inquiry about a problem ,which will certainly develop students' diverging thinking .4 Solving a problem by means of reasonable inference and non-logical thinking will , most of the time ,bring about a unique way of thinking ,which should be paid full attention to by teachers.5 A proper situation should be created for the students to discover new knowledge.6 Appropriate application of reasonable inference and non-logical thinking can really foster students' interest in ,love for and curiosity about mathematics .
