In order to ascertain the main element that influence the popularization of mass volleyball in China and to discover the role they play in the popularization by adopting document data, investigation, logic analysis and mathematical statistics, the thesis proposes the main element: culture, features of the sports itself, participants, policy and media. In addition, the thesis also conducts a systematic analysis of the main elements form interdisciplinary angles. The result of the study shows that the popularization and development of mass volleyball are radiated from schools, which is reflected in main sports groups and fields. It also shows that the form of mass volleyball is still limited with six-person volleyball, lacking in a prosperous scene of various forms of volleyball. Along with the development of culture, there were three changes in people's acceptance of volleyball. The first change was game which stands for the initial knowledge of volleyball. The second change was appearance of intercontinental competitions which shifted volleyball from game to athletics. The third change was the acceptance of dualist approach, which led to the co-existence of games and athletics. People are the main today of mass volleyball. However, the organizers ignorance of people's demand of volleyball and their general have method of rigid uniformity' initiative in practical work have weakened the people's heavily in the sports and have led to the cold phenomenon during the popularization of mass volleyball. After the research, we know that newspapers, magazines, tvs and the web have become the main channels to spread information of volleyball. We should set up instructing centers and arrange instructors to help people with various forms of exercises when we popularize mass volleyball. This is meant to form a secondary communication structure of 'mass media - instruction-participants'. By meansof the media's propaganda and the participants' teaching by precept and example, we are form a spreading mechanism from 'secondary communication' to 'N communication'. In the new situation, policies should be advantageous to the popularization of mass volleyball. Nowadays people have witnessed the continuous increase of their consumption level, therefore they have spare energy and fund to take part in mass volleyball. We still need commissions for physical culture and sports to propagandize and popularize mass volleyball, making use of the sport's own features, so as to attract the mass to take part in the active and healthy sport. |
