The Geometer's Sketchpad (GSP) has gained its great popularity among the mathematic teachers and is now serving as the best software platform for the Computer Aided Mathematic Instruction (CAMI) in our country, in answering for its coming up in Chinese version, its convenient operation and its powerful functions. By employing the GSP in their teaching, the teachers have made the following achievements: enriching the information in their teaching practices and expanding their students' cognitive territory; accommodating the cognitive differences among the students, successfully cultivating their positive attitudes toward mathematics and helping them acquire a justified conception of the very subject; blending mathematic teaching with aesthetic education and mathematic-thinking and training their mathematic minds. Furthermore, the GSP can function as a virtual laboratory for 'doing mathematics', which is a cognitive platform for developing the students' innovative thinking.Among most of the teachers who are now utilizing the GSP, however, there probably exist some misconceptions as far as their designing of course ware, their teaching guidelines and teaching skills are concerned. Therefore, it is crucial that the teaching practice be under the direction of such educational and psychological theories as constructivism, which can ensure the teachers a good understanding of the very nature of the GSP and the psychological characteristics of their students. Based on this, the teacher will be able to turn out a reasonable teaching arrangement in a complete accordance with the practical and realistic principles of the subject-participation and hierarchical abstraction.Additionally, the present paper also makes an exploration on a new teaching model?mathematic experiment based on the GSP and its resulting experiment reports, which are proved to be an advanced activity of mathematic thinking. Appended to the body part is an example of teaching layout, which is based the reflections on the teaching experiment and the principles proposed in the present paper.
