It is very important to study teaching administration of China's universities. It will be very helpful in encouraging the innovation of teaching administration and make it meet the needs of innovational education.This dissertation makes preliminary probing of the teaching administration on the macro-background of innovational education and falls into four parts: introduction, elaboration of teaching administration theory in the universities, evaluation of the present state of teaching administration in China's universities, and the methods of improving the teaching administration hi the universities.Introduction tries to argue that for Chinese higher education, it is urgent to attach the importance to the studies of teaching administration, encourage the innovation of teaching administration, improve the general teaching quality and the quality of the student.In the second part, I try to elucidate the characters of the high education teaching administration, the contents and the goals of the innovational education. Then I make a preliminary study of the relations between the innovational education and the university teaching administration. I try to argue that both aspects are closely connected. If we hope the innovational education to be reality, we have to reform the traditional ways of teaching administration.hi the third part, I survey the basic achievements of our university teaching administration. Based on the survey, I elucidate the shortcomings of university teaching administration and then" origins. Then I shortly explain the related questions of teachingadministration in connection with the internal and external environment of the university.Lastly, I try to find some methods to improve our university teaching administration. After the elucidation of the basic concepts concerning the university teaching administration, I try to argue that it is necessary for us to learn the new ideas, or it will miss the conceptual foundation of improving the teaching administration. Then I explain some basic principles of improving university teaching administration. Based on the above assumptions, I expound the main ways of improving teaching administration.It is true that many of the scholars have studied the questions about university teaching administration. But generally what they are interested in is the technical and specific aspects on the micro-formation. This dissertation, on the other hand, tries to combine the theory with practice, systematically expounds the present state of our high education, and tries to find the ways of improving the teaching administration. What is new in this dissertation is: firstly, to put the teaching administration against the background of innovational education and elucidate the relationships between them; secondly, to evaluate the present state of our high education objectively from the angle of an experienced administrator; thirdly, to expound the related conceptions in detail concerning the teaching administration and to enrich the conceptual contents of teaching administration thought; last but not the least important, to find the main questions in teaching administration and put forward the suggestions to improve the university teaching administration.
