This paper sets forth the significance and goal of vector teaching in secondary school and analyses the effects of vector on reforming geometry teaching materials, and discusses the teaching contents and teaching methods on vector. By comparing and analyzing various methods of describing vector concept m present teaching materials, the paper suggests a rational scheme to describe vector concept. In the popular way, it scientifically reveals the nature of vector concept by using the simple concept of assemble including the elements which are directed line segments whose length is equal and whose direction is same. The paper also discusses the contents and the logical system of vector teaching material in secondaiy school. It also suggests how to set up spiral teaching system and how to demonstrate rationally the properties of vector operation on the basis of students?mental development. Finally, The paper sets forth several suggestions about vector teaching in secondary school: enforcing close links with reality; embodying the principle of study on students?own initiative.
