Recently, every country attaches importance to the development of indigenous education and maps out many appropriate indigenous education policies to accelerate the development of indigenous education.Australia is a typical multinational country,so Australia institutes particular indigenous education policies to accelerate the development of indigenous education,which receive extensive attention from the world.Of the 140 complicated nations ,the Australian native-born nation is old-line and creates Australian's important physical and culture fortune.Based on consideration of the Australian's population,the polity,the economy,the culture and the history ,the federal government instituted a series of policies to accelerate the balanced development of indigenous education.Based on the collection and analysis of the research actuality at home and abroad,this paper analyses four phases indigenous education policies,which are the occupy policy(1788-1925),the assimilative policy(1930-1965),the incorporate policy(1965-1973) and the multicultural policy(1973-now).Also,this paper describes the development course of indigenous education.The policies of the 21-st century are the keystone of my research.This paper analyses the recently ten years indigenous education policies and excavates the advantage and disadvantage of these policies.These policies'important documents are all ready and reach the request of integrality;the policy contents don't confine itself in conventional concept and innovate according to the development of circs. But these policies don't have pertinence and technology because of their implementing interleaving.This paper analyses the federal government evaluating report in 2006,and reviews the results of the indigenous education policies in 2001-2005.to sum up,the results are very good. However, some policies don't have results because of short time. Although the situation of our country is different from Australia, we can learn from Australian's indigenous education policies.This paper has been divided into five parts.The first part is about the historical development of the Australian's indigenous education policies. The second part is about three typical new policies after the year 2000. The third part describes the characteristic of these policies. The fourth part explains the results of these policies according to the evaluating report data and describes the disadvantages of these policies. The fifth part discusses my evaluation to these policies and learns some lessons from them.
