| Since China has reformed and opened to the world, with the continuous development of the socialist market economy and the deep reform of social aspects, the traditional elite athletes social security system which formed in the period of planned economic system has to face many new situations and new problems. Elite athletes are mainly centralized training and learning in two schools in Zhejiang province, which, are Zhejiang Vocational College of Sports and Ningbo Tigongdadui, therefore, the paper selected outstanding players in these two schools as the research objects for the research and study. Through the method of expert interview, the chief of two schools'personnel department have been interviewed and a large number of first-hand information are collected, and thus supplied for analyzing the problems and its causes of elite athletes social security system in Zhejiang province. At the main while taking the military social security system of China as a case of reference for providing reference and inspiration, and ultimately supplying some proposals for improving the Elite Athletes social security system.To analyze the situation of elite athletes social security system in Zhejiang province is mainly from four aspects which can be described into social insurance, commercial insurance, education, retirement and resettlement. In order to analyze the reasons of problems, the article described the reasons from three aspects, the national social security system level, the sports internal social security level and athletes themselves. On this basis, we can supply a series of proposals to improve the social security system of elite athletes in Zhejiang province, such as improving elite athletes social security laws and regulations, further improving the athlete insurance services, strengthening education and the training of professional skills for jobs, enhancing elite athletes retirement and resettlement, setting up mechanisms for elite athletes social security assistance and so on.
