Dongxiang zu is one of the three ethnic minority in Gansu province.Under the background of the impact on globalization,Modern sports events made the increasingly impact on the Minority,which have built a broad popular basis on basketball.The article is to survey the dongxiang people,who have participated in the basketball,abtaining their motivation,knowing their aiming and raising the theoretical assumptions about their motivation.On the basis of which,I have made a elementary questionnaire to 154 dongxiang peoples,by the factor`s analysis on the elementary questionnaire,I made out a formal questionnaire ,by which,I made a survey to one thousand dongxiang people,who have participated in the basketball and produced the following results:(1)The motivation of dongxiang people`s participation in basketball was impacted by two factors: Intrinsic Motivation and Extrinsic Motivation.The intrinsic motivation includes four factors:"Physical fitness","Self-presentation","Study basketball skills and knowledge","Cultivate excellent qualities".The extrinsic motivation includes five factors:"Decompression and Relaxation","Communication and Contacts","The attributes of items","Stimulate amusement","Objective impact".Each factor has the different strength.The descending orders are:"Objective impact">"Communication and Contacts">"Stimulate amusement">"Physical fitness">"The attributes of items">"Self-presentation">"Decompression and Relaxation">"Cultivate excellent qualities">"Study basketball skills and knowledge".(2)In the motivation of participated in basketball,The dongxiang people with different sex,between urban and rural areas,different educational background and different ages have highty significant differences.
