Research On Ethnic Group Equality Of Higher Education In South Africa

Higher education teaching and research in South Africa is more than important in today's world, and keeps a leading place in some fields. Some world-class universities in South Africa attract large quantities of Foreign Students to study there. Since China and South Africa established diplomatic relations in 1998, some of our Scholars start to study Reference Meaning of this country in higher education. But, the achievement of today's South Africa higher education is largely relative with its racial discrimination and apartheid system. Because it brings serious racial inequality, racial discrimination and apartheid system becomes a kind of hindering factor for the development of its higher education at present.Exotic European white immigrants and their descendants occupy about one-fifth South Africa population, while they became ruling class with their advanced science technology and powerful military in South Africa. The white ruling class dominate the black, mestizo and Asian immigrants with racial discrimination and apartheid system, and deprive them of equal right in economic, political, cultural, education, health care and other aspect.From the beginning of the establishment of higher education in South Africa,blacks were denied the right to higher education in the country. However, for the unfair treatment of black communities, they never give up the fight and struggle. In the struggle, the white government made a compromise and concession. Blacks and other racial groups disadvantaged in the field of education to improve , and gradually got the right school and the school. However, these rights were something which white rulers had to compromise. In order to protect its own population in South Africa's dominant position in various fields, the ruling class has also taken various measures to restrict these groups development to these vulnerable groups in the development of opportunities for tertiary education. Especially in the period of the Old Republic, the white universities received government support under apartheid. Educational management, teaching and research got into the ranks of the world's leading. But black ethnic groups have rare opportunities for higher education, and their academic development is limited. Besides, the quality of teaching and research is weak in most black universities.In 1994, the establishment of democracy in South Africa broke a hundred years of colonial rule, and took the higher education development into a new stage. The new government had adopted a series of positive measures and formulated plans of promoting. And it decrees for the eradication of higher education which had caused the development of the state. With the law and policy, this country achieved a higher education among the ideal of justice. However, the long crow society for South Africa dominated areas had not vanished in a short period of the elimination of racial justice. The problem is still the major obstacle to hinder the development of higher education. In the implementation process, they test the reform of law and policy and effect in higher education.While we study and learn from South Africa, the higher education reform measures must be on the reform of social background and the implementation process,and then ,we can understand the problems in a deep-going way. Only knowing two national differences in higher education development and the deficiency of the higher education reform in South Africa ,we can think deeply their significance of higher education in China to provide reasonable Suggestions.
