Teaching diagnosis of chemistry, which is the constant theme in chemical education research, is described as the precondition and basis for students to realize their personalized studying, as well as the powerful tool for teachers to improve their teaching quality. In most of current research, the development of diagnostic test is still based on the classical test theory, and diagnostic result analysis is still based on general scores, rather than systemic and deeply research using modern measuring theory. Against this background, this dissertation tried to conduct the research of chemical cognitive diagnosis by exploiting measuring model as the guide, and the content of chemical equilibrium as the carrier.Many methods such as literature analysis, questionnaires, individual interview, Item Response Theory, Rule Space Model were employed in the research. Two major components of the research process are as follows:Part 1 The Development of Diagnostic Measurement Instrument of Chemical Equilibrium First, attributes model of chemical equilibrium was constructed based on materials such as chemistry curriculum standards of high school, examination standards. Then, three preliminary diagnostic measurement instrument of chemical equilibrium were developed, and BILOG-MG 3.0 software was used to estimate items'difficulty, discrimination, information and subjects'ability value (θ). Finally, based on item's information and attributes, we developed a formal diagnostic measurement instrument which has good reliability and validity.Part 2 Analysis on the Diagnostic Results of Chemical Equilibrium At the beginning, Q matrix of RSM which links between attributes model and items' attribute code was constructed. Then, we applied BILOG-MG 3.0 software and other program to estimate virtual subjects'(θRj,ξRj) and realistic subjects'(θxi,ξxi), so as to classify subjects according to rule points. Finally, we used compute program to calculate subjects'attribute mastery probability and employed statistical method to explore characteristics of attribute mastery.The research has found that:attributes model of chemical equilibrium is reasonable and valid; the diagnostic instrument we developed in this research has good reliability and validity; RSM is successfully employed in the diagnostic analysis of chemical equilibrium; subjects have good performance in the majority of attributes of chemical equilibrium, but some attributes are needed prompt remedy; significant difference in attribute mastery between genders, grades, schools have proved; there are eight knowledge states and five learning paths in subjects, and learning paths can effectively guide class remedy teaching; diagnostic report is detailed, personalized, and favorable for self-remedy.
