Between the Ming and Qing Dynasty, enlightenment teaching, as the preparatory stage of imperial examination, whether Official or private school, all took the reading and writing on the high position. For the problems of the eight-legged essays education, many talented people have put forward some useful ideas, Zhang Xuecheng is one of them. Zhang is a historian, but he is also a well-known educator, he is writing and teaching in all his life. His thoughts of education are not only inherited by the fine tradition of education, but also have content of individual initiative, even today it is also have positive significance.This article carries on a more systematic combing to Zhang Xuecheng's Chinese education thought, it has been set into three parts:The first part discusses Zhang Xuecheng's ideology and works of education. Next part focuses on his ideology of Chinese language teaching. The third part tries to put forward modern significance of Zhang Xuecheng's ideology and practice of Chinese language teaching.For this article, I hope it will be able to provide the reference for the research about Zhang Xuecheng's education later, what's more important, I hope it will provide some reference values immediately to the Chinese education:To strive combinate Extensive Reading and Intensive reading in the teaching of reading; Takes the read-write union in the writing teaching, pay attention to the imitation model essay; Teachers should be good at induction, more changes in teaching methods.
