Modern education is student-centered. Students have become the subject of learning. And learning strategies are important factors which affect the validity of learning. The teachers who make pointed training of learning strategies in the teaching process can improve the students'level of English. At the same time, how to make pointed training of learning strategies and improve the English level of the students is the common objective of English teachers. The factors which affect the the choice and using of learning strategies are learning style, the students'gender, personality, intelligence and so on, Among which Learing style is the most important factor that affects the choice. The author considers that training learing strageties based on learning style can improve the students'learning.Through a large number of literature search, the author considers Reid's learning styles classfication threory and Oxford's language learing strategies classfication threory as the theoretical foundation, and explains the correlation between learing styles and learning strategies. Two classes are choosen for the research from Junior Grade Three----one for the experimental class, and the other for the ordinary class. The contrast method, experimental method, and survey method are used for the research. At first, the students of the two classes are required do beforetest to evaluate the two classes. Then the status are analyzed about learning style and using of learning strategies. The survey is divided into two parts, one of which is using the questionnaires of Reid's Perceptual Learing Style Preference and Oxford's Language Learning Strategy Inventory to do a quantitative survey and analysis. The other part is interviewing the students ,using learning strategies between the good language learner and the poor language learner, and then further analyzing the status of the learnig styles. After the analysis of learning styles and learning strategies, the author develops five training strategies about learning: (1)stimulate student motivation and cultivate self-learning awareness; (2)help students understand the advantages and disadvantages,and clear the training objective;(3) put the training into the teaching process and train the students by groups and levels; (4)use the method of explicit and implicit, and the method of match and dismatch to train and strengthen the students'self-monitoring; (5)evaluate and reflect .Finally,after two months'learning strategy training, the aftertest results of the two classes are compared and made conclusions. The experimental results show that: learing styles affect the selection and use of learning strategies. Through the training of learnig strategies based on learning styles, the English level of students can be improved. So the training of learning strategies based on learning styles can promote the English learing level.
