The school education begins to pay attention to all the aspect of child development with social progress,from knowledge to personality,behaviors to attitude,which is the important content.And so is Gender Education.When born, we are male or female.Under the influence of the family education school guide and social model,gender-awareness of one person become to diffenrentiation and gender behaviors become to be stereotypes.The development of gender cognitive matters how to kown yourself how to contact with othersx how to participate in society.They are special,but it's not the excuse to deprive the rights to enjoy life and be equal.So the study of gender congitive development and gender behavior of mental retardation children is important and necessary.This paper tried to get enough information about gender role identity> development of gender behavior and the teacher's attitude by questionnaire and picture test.This study summary the theories and research methods of gender role development, mainly to cognitive development theory and social learning theory,gender androgyny theory as new beginning.The research methods include questionnaire ways-> interviewx literature review and comparison.From the study,we get some concludes on gender role development of mental retardation children:1 x the children have achieved gender indentity level when 7 years old.they can distinguish the gender of self and others better.The ability of gender constancy is proportional to children's age.girl's better than boy's, has a significant development at 13.2> the children's awareness of gender differentiation is weak in low grade,they cannot answer the question which is supposed about future. They still take work and role as gender dichotomy.3 x Lack of the information and resources about gender education is the most factors which constraints the development of school gender education.the writor conclude the orders by which special school design gender education courses system:zero beginning—gender differentiation—gender assimilation, taking ethics as the main principle and supporting life as the main goal of special education.
