The present study chooses the students from Shanghai YuCai Junior High School Grade 6 Class 5 as participants, conducts a practical study of strengthening the autonomous learning ability of the students in Grade 6. The main point is to strengthen the autonomous learning ability by means of self-evalution and self-monitoring in a activity and then inspect the effect through interviewing method, observational method teacher and parent rating method.First, conducting a open interview to realize the primal problem when the students enter into Grade 6. We realize that the very important task for them is strengthening their autonomous learning ability based on the learning environment, the mental development and the problem the present school life they meet with. The autonomous leaning ability has an important impact on the development of the students in the present and later.Next, divide the students into three parts based on the automous leaning ability level and then conduct the activity after a series tutorial activity. The activity lasts three months. Conducting a closed interview when it draws a close, we find that the students at the different automous leaning ability levels have the different cognitive-levels, motivation-types and perspective-spans from the interview. Analysis the changes of mind and behavior. Analysis the difference of the students at different autonomous learning ability level. Divide the mental stage of the students based on the character of them at the different autonomous learning ability. There are the period of wait-and-see, participation, accommodation and consolidation.In the end, the activity is keeping going on. At the same time, keep going on the learning group and add the self-evalution and self-monitoring into it, promote the autonomous learning ability of the students by make full use of the collectivity and fellows.
