The Impact Of Western Popular Cultures To University Students

As very valuable human resources, university students act as our motherland's builder in the near future. In the cultural globalize background,they are affected by a lot of western cultures and values including some bad ones. Therefore,it is necessary carry out an investigation about university students'getting in contact with western popular culture. Based on the current situation of university students in chongqing province,we analyse the western cultures and values'effect and find the right way that help university students to set up correct values.Through highlighting the traditional cultures, we can strengthen university students'national pride and confidence and make them treat the western popular culture correctly.The full text is totally divided into four parts:The first chapter is introduction, comprising of four points:the issue to be studies, the definitions of relevant concepts, such as the popular culture and the western popular culture, then the literature review at home and abroad, and the basic condition of the survey samples.The second chapter mainly analyzes the contact level to the western popular culture in three universities,and analyzes the positive and negative effect of the western popular culture to the university students,and these reasons of how these influences appeared. Regarding the aggressive aspect, western popular culture promotes the socialization of the university students,broadening their vision,helping format their global consciousness. At the same time,it can produce the negative influence with different degree about university students'consciousness,political conviction and moral concept.The third chapter probes the impact factors of western popular culture on university students.It is various,mainly including the factor of the university students' themselves,the western popular culture,social economic development and the public media.The fourth chapter discusses on how to evade the negative influences of the western popular culture,and to exertive its positive affects that to promote the university students'growth.Herein it is considered that because of the popular culture's dual influences,we have to use dialectic taste to treat the western popular culture exactly first,draw lessons from excellent element within it to play a good part secondly, then we should direct the development of popular culture in college with the norms of the socialist core value system,the end is to learn from the western popular culture by learning media literacy education and by norming it and cultivating the main cultural character of university students.
