Fundamental research of pedagogy is a major issue we should solve and it is a reflection to pedagogy itself. The discussion to the theoretical basis of pedagogy contributes the better development of pedagogy. To some extent, the study on the theoretical basis of pedagogy determines the direction of the development of instructional theory. At the same time, for other subjects such as psychology, it Is of great significance to re-understand the philosophical basis and discuss the trends of philosophy's roles in pedagogy research.I found that the role of philosophy experienced a kind of history from knowledge basis to methodology basis in pedagogy research. As knowledge basis, role of philosophy can be divided into two cases:deduced from the philosophy to pedagogy and gave ideological inspiration on pedagogy to scholars. In addition, as methodology basis, role of philosophy can be divided into two cases as well:provided guiding ideology and way of thinking respectively. In the process of proof, I quoted some researches of famous scholars in history as my illustration.I found that a qualitative change does occur on the role of philosophy through the carding and observation to related research. The role of philosophy changed from the role of interpretation as knowledge basis to the role of guidance as methodology basis. In the stage of methodology basis, we can found the role of interpretation from other subjects except philosophy while the role of philosophy is just reflected as a guiding ideology and way of thinking. Actually, the trend of this change has been showing from Comenius. But qualitative change occurred at 50 years of the 20th century. Before that, the role of knowledge basis of philosophy has begun to waver from the complete domination of knowledge basis to the using of spirit of science. After 1950s,methodological basis of philosophy has become a major role and play a indirect and vital role on pedagogy research as guiding ideology and way of thinking.The reason of this trend can be broadly divided into three areas:The first is the influence of anti-foundationalism; the second is the impact of subject independence and the third is the chess result of metaphysics and natural science. These factors make a series of changes from the knowledge basis to the methodology basis.This kind of changes from the role of knowledge basis to the role of methodology basis and from theory ahead to issue ahead can not simply be identified as the weakening of the role of philosophy. In fact, the increase of knowledge basis of pedagogy has not changed the guiding role of philosophy on pedagogy research. On the contrary, we should rejoice for this change. First of all, the change from knowledge basis to the methodology basis helps the pedagogy research to get out of the ideological shackles of philosophy. The researches of pedagogy finally have the opportunities and rights to get nutrients from other disciplines. In addition to that, the change on the way of guidance from theory ahead to issue ahead helps the formation of ideal research method of "problem-centered ". However, we should be aware of the problems we have to worry about and make recommendations accordingly.
