Over the past twenty years, the Behavioral Learning Theory,which takes the students as the object of instilling knowledge, has given way to the Cognitive Learning Theory which takes the student as the subject of information processing. As cognitive psychologists continue to deepen the research on the law of the human learning process in recent years, an important branch of Cognitive Learning Theory– Constructivist Learning Theory is gaining popularity in the West and received recognition and reference by the education staff in China.English teaching reform in China has been undergone for nearly a decade. In order to meet the needs of modern quality education, secondary school English curriculum standards are revised several times, which requires the majority of secondary school teachers to apply new student-centered teaching ideas, teaching methods and means, focusing on the effect of emotional factors and mental development, training their learning way and cultivating their learning capacity, teaching them how to learn.This paper is about the cultivation of English learning strategies in middle school from the perspective of Constructivist Learning Theory. It focuses on discussing some researching study strategies how to teach students to explore and found, which is new teaching ideas advocated by New English Curriculum in China. I am intend it can improve the current situation of English teaching in backward areas and provide students with some effective learning strategies, I hope they can learn English more easily and more effectively and obtain the ability to a life-long learning.Constructivist Learning Theory believes that knowledge is not taught by teachers, but obtained in certain situations, i.e. social and cultural background,through the construction of meaning by learners to use the necessary learning materials and means, with the help of other people (including teachers and learning partners) in the process of acquiring knowledge. So Constructivist Learning Theory believe that "situation", "cooperation", "discussion" and "meaning making" are the four main elements. Studying and researching some constructivist learning theory, and carrying out teaching practice based on constructivist learning theory will produce far-reaching influence and positive promotion for us to implement quality education, which takes moral as core, focusing on cultivating the explore and innovative spirit, researching study initiatively and positively, practical ability of students, and to promote the reform of curriculum materials.I read a number of research materials of researchers at home and abroad who researched learning strategies in the past two decades, then analysis and reviews their research achievements and found issues which few people have studied and drawbacks in their study, and proposed the future development direction in English teaching strategies; Second, this article introduced the basic views of Constructivist Learning Theory, and teaching philosophy, methods, teaching model, based on Constructivist Learning Theory; Thirdly, through questionnaires and interviews to know the current status and issues about the use and training of strategies in English teaching in China. The focus of this paper is the training methods and routes of learning strategies based on the Constructivist Learning Theory, which discusses English teaching strategies on the articulation, vocabulary, grammar and capacity of audio, oral, reading and writing; Finally, though empirical case study, this paper confirmed the effectiveness of learning strategies based on Constructivist Learning Theory.
