Lineage: As Resources In Producing Rural Social Order And Regulating Rural Social Relationship

In my paper, I take some lineage mass disturbances which happened in my hometown as an example to illustrate the importance of "event perspective" in explaining the existing of lineage consciousness.As we all known, Chinese lineage is a complex synthesis. Recognizing it can provide more vivid academic image. Through the affairs, we re-find the lineage consciousness and the elites who are key factors in some events. In addition, the article also discussed the characteristics and causes of that lineage phenomenon, highlighted the peasants how to choose the "community life" or "lineage life".In the end, we come to the conclusion:the peasants of the HJH village are on road from tradition to modern life, the community life mixed lineage life constitutes the main part of the villagers life. To discuss the issue is not only to understand villager's current lineage life, more importantly, the villagers living condition should be paid more attention. Based on blood-tied lineage, in some special times or special events, lineage consciousness that will be awakened from the deep mind of the villagers can play a very important role in producing rural social order and regulating rural social relationship.The whole society is now in such a period when productivity has caused overwhelming significant impact on it. Where should the traditional lineage go and what kind of adaptable form will be developed are still questions. All of these are worth being understood and recognized by us.
