A Study On The Socialist Law Education To The Contemporary College Students

The practice of governing the country according to law and building a socialist country under the rule of law is highlighted as an important constitutional principle on the Second Session of the Ninth NPC. On the basis of this and according to the reality that the contemporary college students are the constructors and seccessors of the building of socialism with Chinese characteristics, this paper talks about great significance of the legal quality of the contemporary college students through socialist law education, which plays a key role in the building of our soclialist country under the rule of law, the perpecting of socilalist market economy, the strengthening the construction of both the material progress and the cultural and ideological progress, and promoting of the all-round development of students. This kind of legal quality consists of what we called basical knowledgement, concept and sense about law, Regarding the exploration of basical law concept as the first step, this paper makes a syntehtical analysis of different ideas home and abroad about the basic concept, reflecting the neccessity and importance of socialist law education to the contemporary college students. Further analysis is also made on the problems and causes in the process of implementing socialist law eduaction to the contemporary college students in the new trends, whose content has also been discussed in details in addition to the measures and ways to carry it out.This paper consits of four parts. In chapter one the key point is the arguments on the concept of"ruling by law"in the law theoretical circles. So many representive scholars home and abroad gave different definitions on the concept, such as Aristotle, Albert Venn Dicey, Montesquieu, Han Feizi, Liang Qichao, Sun Yat-sen and some other Chinese scholars. The author, on the basis of the summary and anlysis on the different concepts, forms his own understanding of it from the angle of builing our socialism with Chinese characteristics, and extends two other basical concepts: law education and socialist law education, expressing the great significance of socialist law education to the contemporary college students from the basical understanding of governing the country according to law and building a socialist country under the rule of law, and builing our socialism with Chinese characteristics. In chapter two, the author illustrates the present situation and problems desideratly to be solved in the process of strenthening socialist law education on the contemporary college students. Futher explorations are also made on the causes. In chapter three, focusing on the the all-round development of contemporary college students, with the purpose of developing the legal quality of them, the author puts forward the basical content to deliver socialist law education should refer to the following aspects: constitution education, socialist law spirit and theory education, and basical law systems. In Chapter four, the author, on the basis of wide reading of the literature reviews, makes a further analysis on some concrete measures and methods to strengthen law education in colleges and universities and put forward some new ideas and methods to carry out the socialist law education to the contemporary college students.
