From Clan's Ritual To Ethnic Festivalthe Research On Anthropology Of Mulao Ethnic Group's Yifan Festival

Festival Culture, as the important part of national culture, is the major waywhich to continue and disseminate,and with the nature of cultural accumulationfield.At the the beginning of the 21st century,China has strengthened theprotection of the intangible cultural heritage,and then festivals have emerged onthe theme of ethnic traditional culture. In this context, it is of great significance todiscuss the reconstruction of a national culture.Mulam is a minority in southern China ,which is a Luo Yue ethnic groupfamily. 21st centuries ago, Mulam was an unknown nation, and Yifan Festival wasonly a part of sacrifice in the Mulam village.It was listed as one of heritages inthe first batch of China National Intangible Cultural Heritage Catalog in June,2006.Then, a leading group for Yifan festival affair, which has organised series ofactivities related to the festival, was set up by the combined personnels from theLuo Cheng County Committee, county government and the cultural department ofthe county . Thereafter, Yifan festival is not just celebrated within the Mulao ethnicgroup villages but becoming an offical festival.With the references to the latest studies on the theories of construction andboundary both at home and abroad, based on the fieldworks conducted in thoseMulao ethnic group villages, this thesis sees through the insights of different Yifanfestival cultrues of different clans, villages and compares them from various angles.Herewith the thesis finds out how this traditional festival was constructed as a partof Mulao ethnic group's culture from a mere village celebration. With the hope thatit can lead this study into a higer stage and go depper from another perspective.The thesis is divided into six parts, The first two parts describe the purposeand significance of this study, previous research results and the field point on thebasic profiles; the third part of the section describes the source in accordance withYifan festival, development and current situation; the fourth part describes thespecific construction Yifan festival content, from the Yifan festival by the name,function, symbol and ritual process in such areas as discourse, fifth , sixth,described by some major Yifan festival of the causes and impact of construction;This thesis will draws the following conclusions: Yifan Festival of the clan fromthe traditional ceremony into a folk festival, " YiFan Festival is given different function at different times for people.
