The university takes training high quality talents as the basic function. The most important task of higher education is to raise qualified workers with high social responsibility sense and unselfish dedication spirit. At present, there are almost 100,000,000 only child in China, under the background of economic globalization, technique internationalization, cultural diversification and information multiplication, many university students have to face the credit crisis, belief crisis, moral crisis and responsibility crisis which is most essential. The family, society and school are three principle factors to lead students'responsibility crisis. How to annotate the responsibility and how to implement responsibility education effectively becomes an important topic in students'ideological and political education. The era requests the family, school and society to carry on explicit and comprehensive education in responsibility. The study of responsibility awareness defect is advantageous in strengthening and improving responsibility education. Such study can raise university students'social responsibility and their sense of mission, and urge them to fulfill their social responsibility consciously. More importantly, based on their special social status, university students can better impact and drive other social groups to perform each obligation in constitution and fulfill their social responsibility as the requirement in "The Outline of Carrying on Citizens Moral Education Construction", thus to build a good atmosphere in which everyone can fulfill their responsibility consciously.The study of responsibility awareness defect together with its countermeasure is good for universities to bear the responsibility of"making up missed lessons", and to play the role as society in responsibility education. Moreover, such study is necessary for university students'ideological and political, and also is the essential requirement of socialism harmonious society construction.The paper takes the phenomenon of university students'responsibility awareness defect as a beginning, analyzing the cause reasons from family, society, school and students themselves four aspects. As an ideological and political educator, we apply pedagogy and psychology into the study, using literature study, interview, historical method, and comparison method to analyze questions in responsibility education and propose corresponding countermeasure, thus to provide many theory and reality basis for front-line educators. This thesis consists of three parts:The first part discusses the significance of responsibility awareness defect study among university students. Here we point out that the study of responsibility awareness defect is the explicit requirement proposed by the party and the government in higher education, is the important content of ideological and political education, is the essential requirement of personnel training in future society, is the essential requirement of the socialist harmonious society construction, and is the basic way in training and raising university students'responsibility consciousness.The second part discusses cause analysis of university students'responsibility awareness defect from the factor of family, society, school and university students themselves.The third part discusses how to improve responsibility education and expand channels in implementation. By discussion, we try to build a new responsibility system in which takes university students as the responsibility subject, educators as the responsibility leading, and schools and the society as the responsibility cradle.
