The reforms of China's research universities'internal management system which contributed to the internal management development of research universities have made remarkable progress. But the internal academic management meets a lot of issues. Faculty participating in the internal academic management still needs to be further study. That the status of the academic power in the research universities can be enhanced, the decision-making of research universities can be more scientific,democratic and modern, the organizational structure can be optimized, the efficiency can be improved is based on the study of the research university teachers'participating in universities'internal academic management research .This study is based on the following assumption: Currently, the faculty in the research universities participates in university academic affairs management relatively weakly. Thus effectively expanding the privileges of participating grass-roots academic administration for research university'faculty can promote the further improvement of the research universities.The introductory section describes the proposition origin, theoretical basis, the definition and discrimination of the relevant concept, literature review, research significance and research ideas on the research universities faculties'participating in academic management .In the first chapter, the current problems which are based on the status quo of research universities faculty participating in the academic management are analyzed . In the second chapter, we get the enlightenment from the experience of the practice on research universities faculty participating in the academic management in the United States and Germany. In the third chapter, empirical analysis is based on Lanzhou University in China and University of California in America.This part describes the specific measures, practice results and problems on the reform of the two research universities'faculty participating in academic management. In the fourth chapter , the new paths of the reform are proposed on the research universities faculty participation in the internal academic management. The new paths such as rationalizing the relations between academic management and administrative management in research universities;improving academic evaluation system,focusing on academic originality; improving the research universities'academic organizations in basic level and improving the management of their teachers to participate in academic accomplishment are proposed on the basis of three principles, moving down the center of gravity , upholding academic freedom and the democratic management.
