Although Tennis as a sport program starts late in our country, it obtains fast development in the 21st century as the rapid improvement of social economy. Some tennis clubs emerge as the times require. Tennis industry in our country presents a rising trend and will become a new growth point in Chinese sport field in the future years, even decades. Tennis club serves as the major grass-roots form of the present tennis industry in our nation. According to the experience abroad, hot popularity, affordable consumer group together with stable market demand constitute the living environment suitable for the prosperity of tennis industry. However, Tennis sport has relative high economic threshold, as a result, among those who can always play tennis, white-collar workers are in majority, whereas rank and file can only play it occasionally. The study of tennis club members'social capital character can deliver us general information and mechanism of those who participate in tennis. Besides, their participating targets, meaning and additional value except fitness can be manifested through the study, which can have some implication on the establishment of tennis industry development policy in relevant departments, tennis clubs activities and people's participation of tennis. Therefore, the study is of reference value for the health and sustainable development of tennis industry in our country.By virtue of documentation, interview and questionnaire survey, this thesis investigates 200 members of 7 tennis clubs in Zhengzhou city, including Fengyun tennis club in school of physical culture in Zhengzhou University, tennis club of Zhengzhou University and Zhongzhou University, tennis club of Xiliuhu, Pengbo, Jiangnan, Tawan youth respectively. The investigation refers to tennis club of profit-making style and nonprofit one for amateurs'communication. Domestic recognized method——"spring festival greeting"is used in the thesis for the estimate of club members'social capitals, including internet scale, network density and resources in members'social communication. Results are in the follow:(1) Among the members of tennis club in Zhengzhou, male and youth are in majority. Students with high education occupies the dominant status. Tennis develops well in universities. Members'income is above the average level which lay favorable substantial foundation for the tennis sport.(2) Tennis club members'participating targets present diverse feature, they participate in tennis club major for improving tennis tactics and keeping fit, and promoting communication, which reflects their subjective cognition and positive attitude towards sports value in the course of playing tennis.(3) Tennis members in Zhengzhou play once at most a week and majority of them acting more than 60 minutes every time. Weekends serve as the major playing period, which relates to the shortage of the tennis grounds. In addition, the organization of match appears diversely, but the club form serves as the major one.(4) Tennis club members have a good cognition of interpersonal communication and relationship. Club members, at most, will make friends with 5 to 10 people among which good friends take up 3 to 4. Amateur-joint tennis clubs enjoy larger cohesion, whereas profit-making clubs are relatively poor.(5) The overall character of Zhengzhou tennis club members'social capital is that network scale is 21.6, network density 0.38 and network resources 69.2. Sex character is that female tennis club members'network scale is comparatively small, whereas network density is large. Age character is that social network and social resources increase as the age increases, while network density decreases as age increases.(6) The difference of Zhengzhou tennis club members'participant time will be manifested in their social capitals, 2 years after participation is the turning point of personal network scale, network density doesn't appear differently, and network presents arising trend. Frequent participation of match will greatly contribute to the increase of members'social capitals, social network scale also get large improvement. The increased network density manifests that the amount of friends met in the course of playing tennis grows. Network resources also increase. Frequent participation of match serves as the turning point of the increase of members'individual social capitals.Based on the above-mentioned conclusion, several suggestions on the development of tennis club will be proposed: (1) Tennis club members should pay attention to the establishment of interpersonal relationship, the cultivation of social capital ideology and the accumulation of individual social capitals. (2) Tennis club should stress the requirement of members'various demands, and the arrangement of activity time and design of activity form should consider as much as possible the majority of members'real conditions. (3) Tennis club should also offer members any opportunity for communication, excepting normal exercises and matches, some interesting programs, like dual meets and arena contests should be taken into consideration. Besides, some non-professional activities, such as literature and art activities, birthday parties and knowledge contests should also be conducted.
