Objective:To describe the distribution of personality types of in a vocational school, xinjiang. To explore the correlation between student's personality and academic achievement, and provide the evidences on giving proper education according student's personality to the teachersMethod:133 single-parent nursing students in a vocational school were inquired. and 300 single-parent nursing students in the vocational school were also inquired as a contrast group. We used Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) to test the students' personalities. Also we measured the correlations among students' personalities, students' family environment and their academic achievements. And we use the SPSS13.0 to carry on the data, the T-test, the multi-dimensional variance analysis, the multi-factor Logistic return were carried on the data analysis separately. Result:(1) In total, personality of single-parent students and parents students students have significant difference (P<0.05).(2) In factor of extraversion, there are statistics significance for single-parent students in the nationality, the sex, the inhabited area, the provider, the highest school record of the provider (P<0.05). (3) In factor of psycholepsy, there are statistics significance for single-parent students and parents students in the sex separately (P<0.05). (4)In factor of neuroticism, there are statistics significance for single-parent students in the different family financial circumstances (P<0.05). (5)In factor of lie, there are statistics significance for single-parent students in the sex (P<0.05).(6)there are remarkable correlation between the academic record and their personality.Conclusions:1. In the single-parent family, the personality of most of single-parent students is good, but it is under the middle level; 2.There are some different personality between the national minority and chinese, because of their different living places and culture.3 Family acted as the key role on personality growth.4. Student's personality can effect on academic achievement, teachers should give proper education to different students according their different personalities.
