The crime of rural left-behind children accompanied by the industrialization, urbanization, and rural labor transfer has become a social problem drawing much attention. Besides, in recent years the rural left-behind children's crime shows an obviously growing trend. Therefore, how to prevent and reduce the delinquency of rural left-behind children is an important research project for our society.In this paper, the present state of the rural left-behind children's crime in L county, Hunan have surveyed using data analysis and questionnaire methods. According to the results of survey and analysis, most of the rural children lack of law knowledge. In addition, in rural areas the left-behind children's crime accounts for a large proportion of crime, and the younger children are prone to engage in criminal activities. What's more, the majority of crimes are violent crime, infringing on properties, passionate crime and mob violence.There are several reasons for this social phenomenon according to theory of different association and social control theory. First, the lack of parental care, family education and parental control and the misleading of parents are important reasons for left-behind children's crime; Secondly, stereotypical examination-oriented education, imperfect psychological and legal education and deteriorated surrounding of schools play a vital role in that crime; Finally, the absence of policies and regulations, imperfect legal system, poor function of community and the negative influence of social culture exacerbate the development of rural left-behind children's crime.This paper proposes a serial of methods to prevent and reduce the crime of rural left-behind children, such as strengthening families and schools education, reforming the education management system, improving legislation, developing rural economy, and cleaning campus'environment. Furthermore, family, school and community should together try their best to put rural left-behind children into an effective supervision so that they can obtain more care and good education.
