Extracurricular activities as an important part of school sports, is the development of a variety of fitness for the purpose of providing training to the students the opportunity to exercise body and mind, and is one of the basic ways of education for all-around development. The main tasks of the education for all-around development is to health first for all the students. The students have a lot of time after school which is a powerful weapon to promote quality education and the comprehensive quality.International schools in Shanghai with foreign educational model, founded and coached by foreigners, adoption of international standards of education system, retains the traditions and concepts of education abroad, the concept of quality education and hands-on reference for education are good for reformation in China.. In this paper, extra-curricular sports activities as the starting point to investigate the international schools in Shanghai compared with ordinary schools sports extracurricular activities and holidays the similarities and differences, learn from international schools to cultivate innovative talents of advanced scientific and reasonable beneficial experience for quality education. This article uses literature research techniques and material law, questionnaire survey procedure,expert interview law, mathematical method of average, logical analytic and other methods, look into the different of concepts and attitudes of extracurricular sports, project selection, organizational forms and sports in holidays between the international schools and the ordinary schools. The main conclusions are as follows:1.the international schools and ordinary schools in shanghai, teachers and students are consistent with a higher awareness of the importance of extra-curricular sports activities. Students in two types of school participating in extracurricular activities is somewhat different purposes. Students in international schools participate in extracurricular activities according to their interests. A main purpose of the students in ordinary school participating in extracurricular activities is a passive acceptance of school, which affect students interested in sports.2.the leading, teachers and students in international schools generally support extracurricular sports, students are very positive to participate in sports performance. There were some leaders in ordinary schools do not support extra-curricular sports activities. Although the student is ready to actively participate in extracurricular activities, they have big academic pressure so that they had to use some extra-curricular sports activities time to do homework.3.teachers and students in international schools in extracurricular sports satisfaction was significantly higher than in ordinary schools. Students in international school can choose to participate in more activities, but students in ordinary schools have to choose the test project as an important item to consider extra-curricular sports activities.4.students in international school set up sports clubs to implement the extracurricular sports, which can not only for students to participate in physical exercise but also exercise the capacity of organizational. Students in ordinary schools mainly depends on the teacher and passive accept the arrangements. 5.students in ordinary schools engaged in cultural studies to improvement and a lot of homework. Even if they are free, they have to go on a variety of classes aim to bonus point in entrance exams. Students in international school can use the free time to participate in various activities, learning something which can not learn in school, in a variety of sports and activities, develop intelligence, training creativity.6.in international school, sports fields is adequate, a variety of sports facilities are open for students to use, and sports-funding is suffciency. But in ordinary school, the fields and equipments are not enough, the sports-funding is not sufficient.
