International mediation is an important means to resolve international conflicts. In the practice of international mediation, great powers act as crucial roles using their abundance of available resources.Arab-Israeli conflict is a classic case of international mediation, as well as a better entry point for studying great power mediation. As a superpower, the United States has always been a major mediator in the Middle East peace process. The analysis with U.S mediating will help us understand the basic characteristics of the great power mediation.Therefore, this paper tried to use the theory of international mediation and selected three variables, which are the motivation of the mediator, the timing for mediating and mediation strategies to analyze the effectiveness of great power mediation in the Middle East peace process.
