| The rise and development of city is able to represent the tremendous progress of human's society. Cities not only create advanced material civilization, but also create advanced spirit civilization. There is a pressing need of paying attention to cultivating and shaping city spirit during the development of cities, due to the increasing competition of global economy and real situation of social development. The power of culture in terms of a nation is deeply rooted in the vitality, creativity and cohesion of the nation, and reflected on the national spirit, it is also embodied in city spirit of a city, that is the reason why city spirit is particularly concerned on.This paper aims to finding the causes of missing city spirit through the analysis of present situation of city spirit in ChangChun. And it makes some countermeasures to building, shaping and promoting the unique city spirit and enhancing the competitiveness of ChangChun. These measures provide a theoretical guarantee for promoting the cultivation to city spirit of ChangChun.
