Abstract/Summary:
In 2007, Roumania and Bulgaria became member states of EU.Today EU has 27 member states and those two round of enlargement was called 'the big bang' by scholar. EU's Common Foreign and Security Policy is the main content of European Political Union as well as one of three pillars in EU. On Common Foreign and Security Policy , the European Union has so far achieved an operating model which combines a sound and relatively independent institutional framework and intergovernmental cooperation amongst its member states. The EU's enlargement also brought the variable to Common Foreign and Security Policy. In this thesis, the author researches the affection of Common Foreign and Security Policy that brought by the new member states joined in EU.TO point out that the key of CFSP is the member states has the common interest. According to constructivism,the state interest is variable,and the collective identity will bring out the common interest. Europeanisation is the way to get those cllective identity.There are four parts of this paper.The first part briefly introduces the Common Foreign and Security Policy,including its origin, nature and the existing problems.The second part mainly discuss the new member states' influences on the Common Foreign and Security Policy. The chapter one is about CFSP's institution. The enlargement magnified the former problems of those institutions. Then the chapter two is about the influences on the deep lever of CFSP. For example the discuss between the supra-nationalism and inter-governmentalism,the big country and small country. The chapter three is case study. It's compare the Baltic countries and Poland to find out the homology and the differences. No matter that is befor the enlargement or after it, the key of the CFSP's future is the member states' interests.The third part is the body,and the theoretical analysis on the "Europeanisation" of the new member states. Europeanisation has become a very important academic issue in the field of Europe research, which means the adjustment and change of political system and policy of member states in the framework of the European Union. Europeanisation has been influencing the politics of member states of European Union in different ways and paths. It has not only resulted in the Europeanisation ofmany policy fields ofmember states, but also has pushed the member states to improve the patterns of policy-making, and the trend of searching formore automation has been gradually developed in the foreign policy field.The last part is conclusion, is the summary of thesis. It sets forth the variable that new member states brings to the Common Foreign and Security Policy. Finally,it's point out that the future of Common Foreign and Security Policy is the member states have common interest. And Europeanisation will provide the way lead those member states get the collective identity.
