Abstract/Summary:
The study on work value of college student is abundant. However, the research didn't extend to the civil servants in Macao. This research investigated into the structure of work value for civil servants in Macao, and the psychological research approaches was used to the study of the structure, as well as the influence of individual characteristic variable to the work value.Also in this research, by the approach of collection and analysis of literature, interview, open questionnaire, we gathered work value items and developed preexamination questionnaire and formal questionnaire. Then, basing on reclaiming the questionnaire, I applied statistical methods like exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, multifactor analysis of variance, multivariate analysis of variance to data analysis. Main conclusions of this research are as following:1. The structure of work value for civil servants in Macao presents relatively independent and coordinate, five-dimension structure: hygiene, Supervisor Support, accomplishments, social relations and occupational prestige.2. "The work value questionnaire for Macao civil servants" has favorable split-half reliability, homogeneity reliability, content validity and construct validity, which accord with the demands of psychometrics.3. The demographic variable like nationality, age, marital status, educational level, employment and working properties, except gender and work time, all have significant effect on dimension of work value.
