The Study On The Characteristics And Moderate Scale Of Floating Population In Changsha

The floating population problem has become one of the most important issues of social concerns while Changsha is playing a more and more important role in the national economy. Therefore, the study on the floating population in Changsha in this thesis is of great theoretical and practical significance.The study object of the characteristics of floating population in Changsha mainly focuses on the migrant rural worker group flowing into Changsha; however, the number measured in the moderate scale of Changsha floating population covers all the floating population who have come to Changsha to work and live which does not refer to the migrant rural worker group in particular.Based on the field survey of the floating population in Changsha, the thesis summarizes its characteristics: personal quality, occupational traits, household income and expenditure features, social security conditions, amateur life conditions, urgent assistance needs and so on. Through this, we can know the basic status of the floating population in Changsha and the services of their urgent needs in details.In the research on the spatial characteristics of the floating population in Changsha, we use Gini coefficient to review its gathered balance degree. The following conclusions can be reached: under the influence of economic factors and floating population's own characteristics, the spatial distribution of floating population in Changsha is not balanced. They mainly concentrate in Furong District and Yuhua District which offer more employment opportunities; at the same time, the floating population has a bad living environment and a low life quality.The thesis is to use economic equilibrium analysis to demonstrate the existence of moderate scale of floating population theoretically. Based on this, the thesis calculates the floating population moderate scale in Changsha by AHP method combined with fuzzy evaluation method. Floating population moderate scale in Changsha city is between 541200 and 649400, and the number of floating population in Changsha has not yet reached its moderate scale so far.Finally, on the basis of previous research, the thesis sums up all the research findings and puts forward policy recommendations aiming at the characteristics of floating population in Changsha and its moderate scale.
