Britain is an important member of the United Nations Security Council permanent, the NATO, the European Union and the Atlantic Alliance, After the World War II, the Britain became a second-class power, but it still occupies a prominent place in the international community. Now The United States is still the only superpower in the international community of the world, although the world is tending to a multi-polar direction, in the expected short period of time, U.S. still will be the only superpower, and its status can not be shaken.Britain and the United States are close allies, especially after the Cold War, in several large-scale regional war the Britain and the United States can be seen the close co-operators, it can be said, in the post-Cold War Era these wars have important implications on the international situation and the international community's contrast of the power. Of course, in the "special relationship", Britain is only a small partner of the United States, but it is undeniable that the United Kingdom has gained greater interests than it should has had with its actual capacity after the World War II, that is British diplomatic success. In the international community the Anglo-American "special relationship" is the most important bilateral relationships. By analyzing the "special relationship" we can forecast the development of the international situation, as well as the changes in the international observation of the phenomenon, the analysis of the great references and values on the relationship between the major countries .This article is written mainly from the British point of view, first of all, the writer analyses the British diplomatic tradition and the formulation of foreign policy principles, then narrate the history of Britain and the United States'bilateral relations, especially the tremendous changes and developments of Anglo-American "special relationship" in the international structure after the Cold War, the "special relationship" will still be maintained and strengthened by the Britain and the United States with the reason of their national interests.
