Research On Animal Right Thought Of Tom Regan

Relation between human and animal is an old problem, it is also a new problem in modern historic surroundings.Report to the Seventeenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) points out that Attaining the Goal of Building a Moderately Prosperous Society in All Respects, we must Promote a conservation culture, and paying attention to the survival and development of wild animals is a part of it. Moreover, strengthening culture construction and encouraging fine ideological and ethical trends is another requirement of Attaining the Goal of Building a Moderately Prosperous Society in All Respects. Nowadays, main western developed contries take animals seriously, especial dometic bird and cattle, and regard kindly treat them as one of social civilization symbols. To integrate the world civilization, China shall reference overseas development experience, know kinds of animal protection thought of westerner. As the spiritual leader of modern animal right movement, Tom Regan's thought on animal right has great influence in western society. So that it is necessary for us to learn about the philosophical basis of his animal rihgt thought. This article discusses right theory and ethics eviwpoints as breakthrough point, systemly introduces Tom Ragen's animal right thouht, and preliminary analysis on possibility of practicing animal right thought in China.
