| Since 1978, the abundant resources of overseas Chinese of Fujian and Guangdong play a role as the first motivation to drive the local socio-economic development. Many scholars have researched the overseas Chinese in these two areas in a multi-level, making the research on overseas Chinese in Fujian and Guangdong province play a leading role in the academic field. Compared with the research on the overseas Chinese in Fujian and Guangdong province, the research on overseas Chinese in Guangxi seriously lags behind in the current academic field. In particularly, the research on the explosion and utilization of resources of overseas Chinese in Guangxi does not attract enough concern since 1978, which directly causes that the academic research can not provide the basic information and consultative countermeasures for practical needs. In addition, in such a case, the following questions can not be answered profoundly:"How is the current condition of the explosion and utilization of the resources of overseas Chinese?", "Why can't Guangxi, as the third largest destination for overseas Chinese, have a good performance on making use of overseas Chinese?"and"How to make use of the overseas Chinese resources to promote Guangxi economic and social progress?".Rongxian is the largest Emigration County for overseas Chinese in Guangxi. There are about seven hundred thousand overseas Chinese who were born in Rongxian and live abroad or live in Hong Kong and Macao. Since 1978, the explosion on the resources of overseas Chinese in Rongxian is the most effective one in Guangxi. But at the same time, the disparity of affairs concerning overseas Chinese between Rongxian and the regions in other provinces overseas is obvious. Taking Rongxian as the breakthrough point for the research owns to the following reasons: firstly, it can unveil the effect and insufficiency of the explosion on overseas Chinese in Guangxi since 1978 and provide research case for exploring ways to make use of overseas Chinese under the new situation; secondly, it is possible to provide countermeasures advice for Rongxian to explore the development and utilization of overseas Chinese to make full use of the advantage of Rongxian as the largest destination for oversea Chinese in Guangxi; thirdly, in a certain degree, it can reflect the common features of Guangxi oversea Chinese that is good for e extending the vision of the research on overseas Chinese.This paper demonstrates the investigation and analysis on the condition of the overseas Chinese in Rongxian importantly investigate the situation of enterprises which are built by the overseas Chinese, the overseas clansmen's attitudes towards the hometown construction and so on ,by using the methods of sociological investigating and historical document retrieval, describing the current situation of overseas Chinese resources'development and utilization and the developing characteristics of Rongxian --an emigration county. In addition, this paper also uses comparative researching method to show the differences in the fields of overseas Chinese resources development between the Rongxian and Fujian and Guangdong which are the famous emigration counties, and on this basis to rethink the experience and lessens in the aspect of the overseas Chinese resources'development and to further discover the developing and utilizing characteristics and the existing problems of the overseas Chinese resources in Guangxi.According to the primary demonstration, this paper forms the following major point:The economic strength of the overseas Chinese in Guangxi can't compare with that of the overseas Chinese in Fujian and Guangdong, but the habitation zones of the overseas Chinese in Guangxi play a more decisive role in our national security and the stability of the southwest border areas when compared to the overseas Chinese in Fujian and Guangdong. The overseas Chinese in Guangxi have a positive impact in eliminating the negative impact brought by the Cold War, promoting the people's mutual political trust and cultural identity in the Beibu Gulf areas and the areas near by, improving ethical exchanges and relations, and creating a good political, cultural atmosphere for economic cooperation, and so on. Therefore, we should take their social and cultural benefits into consideration when exploiting and using the overall resources of the overseas Chinese in Guangxi to enhance the international influence of Guangxi. |
