Current Situation And Countermeasures Of Legal Education On Intellectual Property In China Universities

Legal education on intellectual property in universities is part of university ideological and political education. As a member of WTO and with the strategy of intellectual property and of building China an innovation country which is put forward in the 17^th NCPCC, legal education on intellectual property is becoming more and more important. However, legal education on intellectual property in universities of China has a short history and the achievement is not notable. Thus, it is urgent to research the issue of university legal education on intellectual property. It is under such kind of background that this paper will analyze the situation of university intellectual property legal education in China and put forward principles and countermeasures to strengthen it.Starting with the necessity of intellectual property education in universities, the paper firstly discusses that implementing legal education on intellectual property in China universities is a response to the international intellectual property protection, is required by China's peaceful growth in knowledge and economic times, and is needed for contemporary university students' development.In the second part, the present situation of intellectual property education in China universities is analyzed. Its history and achievement are addressed, and its existing problems are indicated.In the third part, countermeasures to strengthen legal education on intellectual property in China universities are explored and probed from seven aspects: renewing education concepts, specifying educational principles, optimizing education contents, enriching education channels, borrowing developed countries' good experience, improving education methods and speeding up the training of intellectual property teachers.
