The Hard Problem On Consciousness And Thought On Deepening The Research Of Marxism Theory Of Consciousness

The "hard problem" on consciousness is the great problem in philosophy of mind. In this paper, I regarded the latest development of modern western philosophy of mind as perspective; to regard the hard problem on consciousness that David·Chalmers, the United States philosopher put forward, as the clues; and to explain a kind of neglectedbut very important theory in philosophy of mind------neu-dualism. At the same time,particular explained the response of reductionism, one kind of important form of west materialism, to this problem, set forth the elements of Marxism theory of consciousness and explained the relation between Marxism theory of consciousness and the hard problem on consciousness. This paper tried to provide some new ideas for richening and developing Marxism theory of consciousness on the basis of hackling the "hard problem" on consciousness and the study of modern western philosophy of mind. Therefore, this paper carried out on four aspects.Part I: The contemporary consciousness research and the "hard problem" on consciousness .This part started from the evolution of the modern western philosophy of mind, set forth the historical background of the consciousness research; showed recent research on modern consciousness, analysed the characteristics of modern consciousness research; and made a comprehensive investigation on the "hard problem" on consciousness that David·Chalmers put forward; and revealed that the nature of the problem and its important impact and significance.Part II: the typical demonstration of neu-dualism on the "hard problem" on consciousness. In this part, I discoursed upon the new forms of contemporary theory of neu-dualism, and then extended to five typical demonstration of neu-dualism on the "hard problem" on consciousness, and finally I discussed the rise of neo-dualism may bring the "hard problems" to us.Part III: The response of contemporary west materialism to the "hard problem" on consciousness. In this part, I regarded reductionism as the explaining keystone for simply analyzing the comment of contemporary west materialism ,and firstly defined the meaning of reductionism in broad and narrow sense; and then detailed described one kind of typical reductionism explaining mode that Crick put forward. And finally I clearly showed their limitation.Part IV: The thought on research of Marxism theory of consciousness that the "hard problem" on consciousness brought. In this part, I explained four basic elements of Marxism theory of consciousness; and then discussed the relationship between Marxism theory of consciousness and the "hard problem" on consciousness. Finally, the paper stressed that if we want to develop Marxism theory of consciousness, we shouldn't feel prejudice but learn how to accept the new way of thinking, and actively absorb the latest scientific fruit, timely summarize them in philosophical form. At the same time, we also must firmly seize flourishing phases the "hard problem" on consciousness brought, and actively react to challenges.
