"Socialist Core Value System" was first definitely raised on the Sixth Plenum of the CPC Central Committee. Comrade Hu Jintao suggested that: "Socialist core value system should be firmly set up among the people." The report of 17th National Congress of the CPC pointed out further that socialist core value system is natural manifestation of the socialist ideological formation, and advanced the strategic planning that we should move the socialist core value system forward solidly. It is significant to pose the socialist core value system .For this purpose, it is necessary to carry out thorough research on this theory. What is socialist core value system? How should we understand and grasp the four aspects of this system? What is the practical meaning to put forward this system? How should we grasp it?This thesis should be divided three parts.The first part is to discuss the meaning of value, core value, value system, core value system, and the socialist core value system. The socialist core value system is exactly that the Central Committee of the Party adapts to new our country society thought cultural advancement circumstances, face entire important mission brought forward by whole Party. Socialist core value system is the spirit pillars to construct harmonious society, is the important content to drive socialist culture to develop greatly, is the need to reinforce Party's governing capacity, and is the urgent need to improve country's competition.In the concluding remarks part, the author further points out that the socialist core value system emphasizes on building. If the socialist core value system work in practice, we should make building as prerequisite. And if we want to rich and improve this scientific system, we should base on building.
