The Study And Applying Of Ontology Theory In Public Security Case Description

Ontology originated in philosophy. Aristotle defined "Ontology" as science about "being" in the world. Since 1990s, ontology has been introduced in Artificial Intelligence, Knowledge Engineering and Library& Information sciences. And then the definition of ontology has been changed. Ontology learning includes the research on knowledge representation and knowledge organization in the domains mentioned above. In Library & Information science, ontology is a vocabulary with the specification of relationships between terms about a special domain. Ontology learning and practicing have been developing rapidly these years. The theory and technology of ontology get maturer than before. The applying of ontology gets more extensive than before. The research level of ontology in China is not as developed as the western countries now. There is still no domain-oriented tentative or demo system based on ontology in applying fields in China.The research object in this paper is the Chinese text used to describe the details of a case, and we discussed the methods for text classification in language understanding. It realized the automatic classification according to the contents, then given the corresponding legal advice. Firstly, In the part of the semantic search, we made the shortest Matching Algorithm , Propose an ontology-based semantic retrieval model for the aftermath of search, in order to overcome the shortcomings of traditional vector space model. We study the problems including statistical method in weight of semantic element, materialization of semantic relations between keywords, and the similarity between semantic vectors, and so on. To gain the relevant legal precise as possible, and established a preliminary version of a legal classification system .
