The educated youth went to the mountain and countryside from 1950s. Before the Great Cultural Revolution, it had the exploration nature, however, after the Great Cultural Revolution, along with the class struggle promotion, it evolved into a politicization movement. This article has analyzed the reason of this movement from the aspects of politics, economy, education system and so on. I believe that, the economic agent is an in-depth agent in this movement. In order to probe into the psychological development trend of the educated youth in this movement, this article makes the classification of their motives. Obedient, confused, awakening, resisting, this is their idea course on the whole. From this, we can know this movement would come to an end inevitably. Finally, the article Summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of this movement from the two aspects of'the historical opinion'and'the times opinion'. On the one hand,we should appraise this movement from the social history conditions of that time and the attitude of this movement policy-makers and the participants .From this, we can know this movement occurrence has its historical inevitability. On the other hand, in order to obtain the beneficial experience enlightenment, we should review it by our times judgement. Therefore, we cannot affirm or deny it without thinking because of its sudden conclusion. In this movement, the educated youth has made the significant contribution and paid the extremely painful price .so they should be remembered for ever.
