One decade before Cultural Revolution, there areboth of similarities and discrepancies in the practice of researchingbetween Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi. Mao inclined to indirect research,which also fruited. Liu effected both direct and indirect research.Especially the direct research early in 1960s enabled him acquired factualobjective judge and analysis on the economic recession and the causationafter the Great Leap Forward and the communalizing movement ofpeople, engendering divarication of severity with Mao. DuringFour-cleaning Movement, both of Mao and Liu generated leftismmistakes through halfway research of insufficiency, with historic pity left.
