| Socialist harmonious society is a society in which various constituent factors exist in harmony and progress in an ordered manner. Among all the factors, religion is a very important one that should never be neglected. The Chinese Communist Party established the religious policy according to the religious theory of Marxist and the current religious situation of our country. The correct religious policy plays a very important role to the stability and development of our society as well as to the realization of the socialist harmonious society. In the other hand, the construction of the socialist harmonious society will be of certain guidance to the establishment the Party's religious policy.The main body of the article consists of three parts. To help the reader have a general understanding on the foundation and development of the Party's religious policy of the new times, part one probes into the Party's religious policy which is discussed from two points: the realistic and theoretic foundation of the establishment of the policy, and a brief description of the policy itself.
