Research On Some Legal Problems Of NAFTA

The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is the first multilateral agreement signed between developed countries and developing country. Since the agreement had been exist for more than teen years, it has made substantial achievement, not only has promoted the prosperous economy in the three members, but also accelerated regional trade and set the status of multilateral trade in the international trade atmosphere.This dissertation is divided into three parts: First of all, it describes the background of the birth of the agreement at the very beginning, and then shows its characteristics; in the second part, it puts across the content of this agreement briefly, thus, we can draw a general frame of the agreement. Through the way of analyzing some remarkable issues, say the problems of origin, the problems of labor, the problem of environment, and the problems of conflicts settlement, this dissertation concludes the peculiarity of the content, which is very useful to the study and working out the strategies on similar problems in the future; Last but not the least, the dissertation wants to find measures to perfect this agreement by laying out different affects on member countries and non-member countries. The agreement can supply precious and abundant practical experience, especially to the legislation in my country, which is the final goal of doing research on this agreement.This dissertation not only deliberates the agreement itself, but compares it to other relative regional rules and international trade legislations as well. In this way, we can make a conclusion that this agreement has its own peculiarities. This dissertation is based on the unification of the world trade, and focus on the guiding functions to the developing countries. This dissertation absorbs the current results of researches on this agreement through out the native and abroad, in addition, I put forward my own un-mature thinking.
