Based on the analysis of the definition and characteristics of security concept, and on the introduction of different security concept of international relations theory, the paper recalls the history of the development of Sino-U.S. security concept and the existing differences, and sums up the various factors that shapes the security concept of the two countries. This paper analyzes the Taiwan issue as an example to draw the conclusion that the differences of security concept between the two countries can influence the formulation of foreign policy of the two countries to a certain extent. In addition, through the analysis of Sino-Japanese relations, China-ASEAN relations, peace issue on the Korean peninsula, as well as regional security cooperation in East Asia, we can conclude the differences between the two countries on security concept have a direct impact on regional security in East Asia. Although there are certain differences between China and the United States, there are more chances of security cooperation between the two countries. To promote the development of Sino-U.S. cooperation, this paper presents the relevant policy recommendations.
