Central Asia's Strategic Status And The Policy Of China, Russia And America Towards Central Asia

Central Asia region is an independent geopolitics space which newly appears after the cold war. This area receives great attention for its rich resources and unique geographical position. But overall, before the 911 event, this area was still a remote bleak existence no matter in geography or in psychology to a majority of countries including America or some European countries. The 911 event made Central Asia become the international focus in an explosive way, Central Asia became a very active region on the international strategic stage.China, Russia and America are the most influential three great nations in Central Asia; and they stand like a tripod in this region. China, Russia and America all regard Central Asia as the significant strategic benefit area, the three countries will all maintain the long-standing existence in Central Asia. This is not only a result of the three countries′degree of participation and influence in this region, also because the three countries have already formed a kind of special relational frame in the international relations. When China, Russia and America all participate in the local affairs, this kind of relational structure also manifests naturally.How to deal with the three countries′relations will be a significant strategic topic for China, Russia and America. This thesis discussed and analyzed the evolution of Central Asia's strategic status, the benefits of China, Russia and America in this region, the three countries′policy towards it and the prospect of the implementation. Comparing with China and Russia, America's benefits in this region are both simple and complex. To be more exact, the judgment of America's benefits in this region is simple and complex.The third part elaborates the policies of China towards Central Asia. China continues to consolidate boundary military trust and carry out the strategic policy if promoting the regional and international stability in security and cooperation, while in economy, China still continues to strengthen the energy and trade cooperation. Russia strengthens the cooperation with some Central Asia countries in the field of economy, science and technology. America implements policies of strengthening the cooperation with Central Asia countries in energy and security.The fourth part summarizes Central Asia's situation and the conflict of the three countries policy towards it. The development of the three countries′relation after the 911 event is perhaps one of the most important problems on the international stage after the cold war.
