With the technology of the Internet developing rapidly and applying widely, the conflict between network and reality has been emerging gradually. Now the privacy of the Internet users is becoming a troublesome problem. In China, full protection of the right to privacy has not been legislated, so it's important that we study the protection of the right to privacy deeply, especially on how to protect the right to privacy in Internet. In this paper, the author tries to inquiry into the paths and the methods protecting the right to privacy in Internet effectively by comparative analysis, based on elaborating the status quo of Chinese network development and the protection of the right to privacy, combining the fulfillment of the legislation and the technology safeguard in foreign countries and so on.This paper is divided into three parts: preface, main body and conclusion. The main body includes four chapters:Chapter 1 discusses the essential theory of the traditional right to privacy and summarizes the concept, the characteristics and the value basis of the right to privacy. It also expatiates the impact of Internet on the right to privacy, and puts forward the concept of the right to privacy in Internet.Chapter 2 states the development of the object and the substance of the right to privacy, and compares it with the traditional right to privacy for showing the particularity of the former. It also introduces the technology of aggrieving the right to privacy in Internet simply. At last, it analyses specific expression of the aggression upon the right to privacy in Internet.Chapter 3 introduces the patterns on how the present international society to protect the right to privacy in Internet by comparative analysis, and then discusses two main protection patterns: legislation pattern and industry self-discipline pattern through analyzing the typical protection systems in America and European Union.Chapter 4 analyzes the limitations of current protection of the right to individual privacy in Internet in China by focusing on the weak consciousness and the incomplete legal system of protecting the right to privacy. At last, the author puts forward some suggestions on how to draw lessons from the foreign experience to construct the system of protecting the right to privacy in Internet in accord with thesituation of our country.
