Besides, Chinese government has signed CEPA with Hong Kong and Macau respectively which involved many fields of service and trade industry. The related promises of CEPA are already written into the above regulations and laws. In addition, China has issued Administrative Permission Law, which put up reformation to the examination and approval system. In order to adapt to the changes brought by new policies and rules, the commercial departments also made a series of adjustment. This article has cleaned up the changes in the examination and approval of foreign direct investment (FDI) and has a discussion about the future reform's direction and methods.Besides the introduction and conclusion, the thesis includes 3 chapters.Chapter 1 summarizes the concept, function, purpose, scope and other basic knowledge of the system of examination and approval for foreign investment. As well as introduce the concept of FDI.Chapter 2 introduces the development of permission to FDI to China, the transfer of the examine and approval authority from Mofcom, the development brought by the Company Law and the development on the examining and approval system for M&A of FDI.
