Marxist-Leninist fundamental views on nationalism are very important components of the Marxist-Leninist national theory. Not only do they have very important theoretical directive functions for national liberation movement and proletarian revolution, but also provide valuable directions for us to know how to understand the nationalism, which emerged after the cold war. This paper strived to arrange Marx, Ernst's and Lenin's fundamental views on nationalism by using the dialectical materialist and the historical materialist theory of world outlook and methodology. This paper also elaborated the conditions of forming the Marxist-Leninist point of views on the nationalism. Furthermore, it also induced and analyzed the important meaning for us to identify nations by using this point of views in a correct way.Besides the foreword and the conclusion, this paper divided into three parts. In the first part, it elaborated the historical background and the theoretical basis of producing the Marxist-Leninist theory about nationalism and emphatically analyzed Marx's and Ernst's understanding about two kinds of national movements; Marx's and Ernst's critique about the bourgeois nationalism and their exposition about the national liberation movement in Asia and Europe . In the second part, it mainly elaborated the historical condition which formed the Lenin's point of view about nationalism; and it emphatically expounded Lenin's contribution to the problem of nation and colony and his critique about the bourgeois nationalism. In the third part, it first expounded the current situation of the international and internal nationalism after the cold war; then it remarked and analyzed this nationalism by using Marxist-Leninist fundamental views on nationalism.
